Viola School will be closed again on Thursday. This day will be made up on March 29th.
Seniors and Early Graduates need to be checking their school email for scholarship opportunities. The local scholarships are starting to become available. Today, you were emailed information on the Bank of Salem Scholarship. We will email you every scholarship that we get, so make sure you are checking your email often.
Viola School will be closed on Wednesday. This will be the only AMI day available this year. Students should have AMI packets or online assignments to complete.
The regular monthly school board meeting for Wednesday evening has also been rescheduled for Wednesday, January 24th.

This is a reminder that students going to college can be completing the FAFSA and AR Scholarship applications now. The FAFSA can be found at fafsa.gov and the state scholarship application can be found at https://sams.adhe.edu/. The state application includes several scholarships and grant opportunities. One of the most familiar is the Lottery Scholarship. The FAFSA is an application students will complete each year they are in college.

The basketball games scheduled at Rural Special this Friday, January 12th, have been moved to Thursday, January 11th.
Games will still start at 5 pm. The JR Boys and both sr teams are playing that night.
The Lady Longhorns took a field trip
to The Hill to watch the Lady Razorbacks play Georgia. We cheered, danced, and called the Hogs!! A good time was had by all!!
Don't forget, Viola students will be attending school tomorrow, Monday, January 8th. With restrictions the LEARNS Act has placed on the use of AMI days, these makeup Mondays will help keep the Viola School District on track to complete the school year on time.
All jr girls going to the tournament game tomorrow need to be at the gym at 9 am. Our game is at 12:20 pm in Lynn, America (Hillcrest).
The basketball games tonight at Shirley have been postponed. We do not have a make up date at this time. Jr high games tomorrow at Hillcrest have not been cancelled yet.
Due to the increased threat of winter weather that could impact travel Friday afternoon, Viola School will be CLOSED FRIDAY. This day will be MADE UP ON MONDAY, which is currently forecast for rain only, well above freezing. (Viola’s policy is to make up the first day missed due to inclement weather in any week on the next Monday, if possible.) A determination about games at Shirley Friday night, will be made by early afternoon, based on the conditions and forecast at the time. Teacher PD scheduled for Monday will be rescheduled for a later date.
The jr and sr girls basketball teams will be going to Fayetteville this Sunday to watch the Lady Razorbacks play Georgia. The tickets are free. Players will need to only bring money for food.
The bus will leave around 9 am. The game is at 1 pm.
