The Longhorns scored a huge 8-2 victory over the Carlisle Bisons! Both our Boys and Girls singles teams dominated the courts, sweeping all 6 matches.
Longhorns are 19-6 in conference matches.

The Viola Cross Country team traveled to Mountain Home to compete yesterday. We are proud to celebrate their accomplishments!
Junior High Girls: – 1st Place Team Finish!
Our Junior High Girls team brought home a 1st place finish, with strong individual performances across the board:

* Preslee Winter – 4th place
* Kyra James – 6th place
* Morgan Newberry – 11th place
* Kylie Jennings – 17th place
* Harper Rowden – 23rd place
* Marlee Wray – 29th place

Senior High Girls:
Congratulations to Missy Wilson, who placed an impressive 3rd overall in her division! Keep it up Missy!
Junior High Boys:
A big shoutout to Bayler Wright, who led the Viola boys team. Due to a timing malfunction, final results are still pending, but Bayler gave an outstanding performance, and we look forward to hearing his official placement soon.
Junior & Senior High Boys:
Both our Junior and Senior High boys teams continue to show great progress, with overall improved times at this meet. Your hard work and dedication are paying off – keep it up!
LEGO Club will have monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of every month until 4:45 PM for students in 4th-6th grade. This month's meeting will be on Tuesday, October 7th, until 4:45 PM.
Students must bring a note the day of the meeting in order to stay after school.

Avery Roger’s came away with another 1st place finish with the over all top score on the girls side! She had a great day at the course!
On the boys side, we competed well in a very tough field of golfers. Beau Cowgill led the way for the Longhorns with Mattix Rowden not far behind him.
We are very proud of all of our Longhorn golfers for representing us well! We were all able to get in some great work today in preparation for our district tournament match this Monday at Turkey Mountain!
According to their website, See You at the Pole™, the global day of student prayer, began in 1990 as a grass roots movement with ten students praying at their school. Decades later, millions pray on their campuses on the fourth Wednesday in September. It is simply a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. See You at the Pole™ is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event.
Anyone who would like to come and participate in this event with our students are welcome to do so.

Additionally, ALL competitors MUST be registered by 2:30 PM on the day of the event.
Attention Elementary Longhorns!
We are encouraging our Little Longhorns and their parents to get involved in basketball. Here is a great opportunity happening this fall that we are encouraging.
This league is made up of teams from our area that each player has to be from the same school district. The games are expected to start in November. We believe it would be great to be able to enter a team from Viola in each division.
If you are interested in helping out or possibly sponsoring a team, get in touch with Coach Gardner. These forms will be sent home with your Little Longhorn from school. Please return them to the elementary office by October 3rd.

The Longhorn tennis team performed strong again on Tuesday, defeating Sacred Heart Catholic by a score of five matches to two.
On the girls’ side, Viola was dominant. Meredith Deane opened play with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Corlie Zimmerman. Piper Swindle followed with two commanding wins, defeating Caylee Williams 6-0, 6-1 and Zimmerman 6-0, 6-0. In doubles action, Abby Hutson and Justice Steward rallied after dropping the first set to secure a 4-6, 6-3, 10-2 victory over Kylie Magie and Tatum Paladino.
In boys’ competition, Aden Kiefer fell to Graham Combs 2-6, 1-2, while Paolo Spanedda picked up a straight-sets win over Xander Osborn 6-2, 6-3. The doubles team of Diego Decampo and Henrique Sandoval came up just short in a match tiebreak, falling 6-2, 4-6, 9-11 to Beck Willbanks and Conner Stokes.

It was a great day on the Golf Course for the Longhorns!
The Longhorn Golf team had a fantastic showing on September 9, competing against six other schools and over 50 golfers in total.
The boys team finished just one stroke shy of first place, earning a strong 2nd place overall.
Beau Cowgill tied for the top individual score of the day.
Mattix Rowden and Rhett Robbins were close behind, with all three finishing in the top 8 out of nearly 40 golfers!
Avery Rogers led the way on the girls side, claiming 1st place individually with the top score of the day!
We’re incredibly proud of all our golfers and the progress they continue to make each match. We'll be back on the course this Thursday at Turkey Mountain!
