Ms. Stone's Career Readiness class has been busy this month! Students got to visit the Ozarka campus and Tech Center to learn what there is to be offered while still in High School or for College after graduation. They were also able to experience Mock Interviews with Lucinda Bishop from Bank of Salem, Mary Todd from Lowe's, and Cortney Varner from NAEC. They got to practice different types of interview questions well as get immediate feedback. They also have already created Resumes and cover letters. Hopefully these lessons are ones that they can carry with them no matter what they do in the future!

Viola FBLA had a great day at the Fall Leadership Conference held at ASU–Mountain Home.

Our chapter was well represented with 11 students in attendance. Joey Harber did an excellent job fulfilling her duties as District VI Treasurer, and Mr. Thrasher had the honor of delivering the invocation for the meeting. Our chapter was recognized for attendance at the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim this past summer. We were also recognized for achieving the Gold Seal of Merit Award and Gold Champion Chapter this past school year.

During the conference, new members were recognized, and our chapter officer team was officially installed for the year. We’re proud of our students for their leadership and dedication to FBLA.

The group wrapped up the day with a delicious lunch at Slim Chickens in Mountain Home.

Our Longhorn golf team was represented well at the 1A Boys State Golf tournament. Mattix Rowden and Beau Cowgill both competed hard in a very tough field of golfers. Mattix Rowden finished 12th overall out of nearly 70 golfers shooting his personal best.

With the state tournaments over, this will bring our golf season to a close. We are very proud of all of our Longhorn golfers and the season that we had. We say good bye to 2 seniors , Meredith Deane for the girls, and Beau Cowgill for the boys. We wish you both the best and thank you for representing our Longhorn Golf team well. We look forward to the future of Longhorn Golf with high expectations.
