Elementary Accelerated Reader first quarter reading goals!

We are excited about the results for the ACT Aspire test, for Viola Elementary School!! The test was given late last school year and the results were only received late in the summer. The students worked hard all year last year and so did the parents and teachers of our VES students. They also worked hard and tried to do their best on the test. The effort paid off. Viola Elementary did very well and I am very proud of our students!! Not only did we have many students meeting the readiness goals, most showed a large amount of growth. Our students ranked very well both locally and in the state. Excellent job VES and keep working hard!!

Hello Parents and Students. This year Cross Country practice will start Tuesday, August 22nd. If you plan on running Cross Country this year please be at the first practice so that I can have a full roster of everyone that is going to run. We will meet at the high school gym. Seniors happily claiming their own Longhorn car tags for the newly resurfaced parking lot on their first last day.

We hope that everyone has enjoyed their summer break and we are excited to have students back on campus in the morning. Today a crew started lining and painting the new multipurpose courts behind the high school gymnasium. Until this process is completed, we ask students and families to not use the new multipurpose courts. Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning.

Viola Elementary School Teachers have been preparing for the new school year for the past several days. Today we had a guest speaker, Dr. Julie Lamb Milligan, from ASU Jonesboro to talk to our staff about meeting the needs of our gifted students. This was a very lively and informative presentation from which teachers were able to both learn and enjoy. I appreciate all of their hard work!! We are looking forward to a great school year. I hope to see everyone tomorrow, on the first day of school.
