1A/2A District Tennis Tournament
The 1A/2A District Tennis Tournament was held October 4-5th at Westside Greersferry High School.
VHS team results:
Aubrey May got a buy to the second round of girls singles. She faced Alyssa Conklin of Maumelle Charter and won 6-4, 6-3. She lost in the quarterfinals to Madeleine Tanguaey of Conway Christian 6-0, 6-0. Aubrey went on to place 3rd in the tournament by defeating Addie Overturff of Shirley, 6-1, 6-3. She advanced to the State Tournament.
Kacey Herring lost in the first round to Alyssa Conklin of Maumelle Charter, 6-0, 6-1.
Gabe Baird defeated Brenton Knapp of Westside in the first round, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5; lost in the second round to Blake Whitaker of Maumelle Charter 6-0, 6-0.
Audrie Bridges and Baylee Painter lost in the first round of girls doubles to Sam Corpier and Sidney Severns of Westside Greersferry, 6-0, 6-2.
1A/2A State Tennis Tournament:
The 1A/2A State Tennis Tournament was held October 11-12th at Fairfield Bay. Aubrey May lost in the first round to Jaycee Davis of East Poinsett County, 6-3, 6-4.
